Oooh, this looks very sweet! Definitely reminds me of The Gallerist, just lighter. It gives off the usual Lacerda vibes, but without the millions of tiny rules you have to pay attention to in his heavier games. Which I still love, I just feel like I need to re-learn the rules eeevery single time I wanna play with them.. And I'll still feel like I'm definitely forgetting something! 😁 Thank you so much for the video, I'm looking forward to this release, and in the meantime it's already up on Tabletopia to play for free, so I might just give it a go!

It totally depends on what my investment was, in both time and money. The greater the investment, the more I will try/chances I will give it. I recently received a game that I won. It was on my wish list. Played it once, it was a miss, it is now on the cull pile.

Favorite cards games include :poker, euchre, bridge, cribbage, solitaire, rummy, memory, free cell, and baccarat. Sadly I’ve never heard of any of these new ones, but I’ll give them a try. Thank you for the recommendations.

I think the theme really helps my joy of Ark Nova. I don't think the theme is really that baked in with the mechanisms much, but I do feel like I am building a zoo. And that to me enhances it over something like Terraforming Mars (I prefer these nature/animal themes).

That was one of the most legit top 10's I've seen from professional reviewers such as yourselves. To me, top 10s will (and should) be taken by games that have been not only loved, but games for which our love has been proven over and over. Only real classics can do that, especially when we're talking about top 5 or top 3. I also was taken aback by the South Tigris games, love both of them to death (maybe I like Scholars a bit more because I'm a translator and language professional myself) and they ARE instant classic material, just like La Granja. Sometimes you just know. It's still amazing how Le Havre continues to capture veteran gamers. It's also one of my favorites. After all... in Uwe we trust, amirite. I'm really sad that I never got to play Oranienburger Kanal, even though I actually held the box in my hands last year when I visited Berlin. It was too darn expensive and I decided to bring more games home. I live in Brazil so I'll never see a copy around here. Glad to know that they are going to really bring it to the public in a new version! He's one of our favorite designers around here. And I have to say I really enjoy your channel and your playthroughs. Now I understand why I feel so much at home watching you guys. Our favorites match very well. I have never been able to play Prodigal's Club, but always wanted to. Suchý is a more recent favorite for me and the 2nd edition of Shipyard was an absolute success with everyone here. Then we have South Tigris', Lacerda games, Gaia Project, La Granja, a bunch of Uwe's, etc. Also love Caledonia, but I could only play it online (out of print and very expensive to buy used around here).

I am watching old content, so i don't know if anyone will ever see this comment. But Nick you inspired me when i first got in the hobby to buy Shakespeare and I haven't played it since before the pandemic, but i remember really liking the game, despite never being able to beat my two sons at it. But it was alot to learn and because of that its been sitting on my shelf for years cause i didn't want to go through the hassle of relearning it. So its only fitting that since Nick inspired me to buy it, that he would then just inspire me to go relearn and play it again.

Maybe it’s just me but theme matters, and is a reason why-all things being equal-I will be excited, or not, to play a game. I can’t get interested in making a quilt, and I’m not enthusiastic about railway routes… so there’s 1 and 2 out of the way already!
